Sunday 13 November sees the annual Remembrance Concert by the Malvern Male Voice Choir at the Church of the Ascension, Somers Park Avenue, Malvern.
The concert is titled: ‘A Hundred Sunsets – An Inspirational Commemoration for Armistice Day’; this year the focus is to particularly remember the one hundredth anniversary of the Battle of the Somme which saw one hundred and fifty thousand killed, with twice that number maimed or wounded.
Charles Pavey, the MMVC musical director, has devised a special programme of music plus poetry of those who fought on the Somme. He said: “This is one of the most important occasions for the Choir during the year and it is always appreciated by both performers and those who come to listen.”
Joined by the Choir of Holy Trinity Church, Malvern, the occasion concludes with a service of remembrance.
The occasion starts at 7pm. Entry is free; there will be a retiring collection for the Royal British Legion and the Church of the Ascension.
